Attendance

One indicator of student success in school is regular attendance. Students are expected to attend school every day it is in session, unless they are ill or there are other circumstances, which prevent their attendance.  If your child is ill, please call the school office as soon as possible on the day of the child’s absence.  Parents who wish to pick up homework for their child should make arrangements early in the day and plan on picking up the homework in the afternoon.

The school will be contacting parents of students who are excessively absent and/or tardy.  If attendance does not improve, the student will be referred to the School District 70 attendance officer for further action. Excessive absences can lead to student and their parents being turned over to the court system for truancy charges.

Please help your child succeed at school by expecting regular attendance.  Excessive absences will result in a letter being sent to the child’s parents and/or guardians and possible Truancy charges.
